Linux Sales Down

CNET.com reports that Linux sales declined by almost 5% in 2001. On the flipside, Windows sales increased by 11%. From my own experience with both OSs, I have to say that a lot of what you hear about Linux is true—if you are a hobbyist (like myself) or if you’re planning on running server-side stuff, it is an excellent choice. On the other hand, I’ve been tremendously impressed with Windows XP, especially with the UI. (The OS itself seems very similar to Win2K.)
