Jeffrey Zeldman has redesigned his site so that it is fully XHTLM/CSS based. Although I don’t particularly care for the new design (I find the white-on-teal color scheme a bit tiring to read on), it’s great to see the leading “Web design gurus” adopting the XHTML/CSS combo.
With more CSS-based sites appearing daily, we can look forward to the day when all noncompliant browsers are finally abandoned by their users. A bit of irony here: in the meantime, some Web users (those using Netscape 4.x browsers, for example) will experience some of the most advanced sites out there in much the same way they did in 1995: with black text on grey backgrounds and minimal formatting.
