Razorfish, bastion of dot-com era bravado, has been acquired by a Utah services firm. In the olden days, Razorfish seemed like the ultimate cool Web development shop, experimenting with the new medium in public and pushing the limits of what browsers could do. This must be very humbling for them, but you gotta make money or else.
SBI and Company, the folks that acquired Razorfish, have been snapping up Web development shops left and right (they also recently bought Scient, another dot-com darling, among others.) There’s some irony in that it took me quite a bit of digging to find SBI’s website. They don’t show any relevance in the major search engines; I had to go through a Utah business directory in order to find them. Maybe the Razorfish team can help them get better rankings on the search engines…
