One word

Scoble: “Don [Dodge, former Director of Engineering at Altavista] tells me that back in the 90s Natural Language Processing was all the rage. They were hoping customers would put in more words to get better results. In reality, though, that didn’t happen. He said that 85% of all searches are one word.”

I suspect this is true of other sites as well; it seems consistent with stats I’ve seen. So how does one design to facilitate one-word searches? What are the implications for product naming and page titling? (Don’t wanna be too generic.)
